As I sat quietly reading my car and driver magazine, I realized that I'm wearing scrubs that had "granted" me at one time a holiday at work. Could it happen again? I asked myself. It is after all Mother's Day and it would be nice to spend it w/ my wife and 7 month old baby. However, its already 535am and the inevitability of not working is slipping by.
And then, a faint ring was heard. As it was getting louder, I asked myself "Could it be?" It is! It is the "unknown caller" ringtone that I hear! And so I hurried to answer my phone from the dining table, pants down to my ankles, being careful not to slip on the wood floor. It reminded me of how penguins ran! I slide the phone out from its case and answer it. I see 415 668 ....- a number associated w/ SMMC! I felt a surge of excitement as I knew what this call meant!
“Hello Ron? Its Cindy, staffing” “Oh hey, Cindy!” I answer back, noting the echo as I answered from the dimly lit room where I shat.
"Hold on, let me see if I can really give you a holiday” she says and puts me on hold. Body tingling with both excitement and fear, I held on thinking how mean it would be if she would not give me a holiday.
Roughly 30 seconds later I hear her voice pick up again- “Maricel can be charge right?“ “Oh yeah of course!” I answer back. “OK, I‘ll give you a holiday”.
Grinning like a prison parolee I rejoice and said “Thanks Cindy!” Happy Mother’s Day to all moms!
Hey its Ron!

Thursday Morning w/ Nina
Busted out my Canon T1i and took these shots this morning. Typical day. Wake up, cry, change diaper, lesson/exercise time, cry, feed, sleep, repeat. Tiring? Yes, but definitely worth it when she interacts, responds w/ her cooing, kicking, smiling...Yep, the joys of parenthood I believe its called. Hopefully, not so much in the wee hours in the morning! Hey, this is my first photo blog!
